Parachutes for Pets recognizes the interconnectedness of people, animals, and the environment, all of which deserve empathy and respect. Our team is dedicated to working toward combating discrimination and inequity by building programs that are welcoming and accessible to low-income families and their pets.

We are looking for people who are passionate about working with people & animals and who want to make a difference by supporting their community. Check out our volunteering opportunities below!

Volunteer Administrative Assistants

Data entry, reception, greeting visitors to the center, responding to FAQ’s via email and phone, other duties as assigned (some work can be done remotely)

Specialized Pet & Support Volunteers

Veterinary Assistants
Pet Groomers
Pet Behaviorists
Social Workers

In-Kind Donation Lead

Liaise with the program coordinator to collect in kind donations, give recognition, take photos, this position is very busy in December. Track all in kind values and report on.

Pet Food Bank Volunteers

Assemble daily hampers, track inventory of the pet food bank, keep the pet food bank organized.

Pet Thrift Store Volunteers

Sort donations, stock racks and shelves, assist customers, work till, collect monetary donations and track for tax receipting issues. Promote our work and answer questions. The store will be open 7 days a week (hours to be determined)

Pet Warming and Cooling Center Volunteers

Keeping area clean and sanitized, assist with the pets needs as they utilize the space. Track into the system pet’s/owner’s information. Coordinate additional care for pets. (Shifts will be available 24/7 during inclement weather, disaster response.)

Events & Fundraising Committee

Plan and seek out fundraisers for PFP, and support ongoing PFP fundraisers. Also, to solicit auction items, sponsorship of events. Be on-site for bottles drives, food drives etc.

Marketing Support

Take photos at events, at the center, and other opportunities as assigned. Provide social media support over the weekend. Blog writing and content creation.
