At Parachutes For Pets, we are dedicated to protecting the human-animal bond, with a primary focus on pets. While we offer support to people and their pets, our mission centers around building strong community systems to ensure pets remain cared for and connected to their families in times of need.​
Please note: We do not assist in new pet adoptions. We are happy to suggest strategies to plan for your new pet arrival, but as the owner, you need to be prepared for these expenses. (vaccines, spay/neuter, pet food costs, unexpected vet care, microchip, yearly check up, etc).
Pet Advocacy Center​
We understand the mental health and financial crisis happening in our community…
We’ve opened the first-of-its-kind Pet Advocacy Centre to help vulnerable Calgarians and their pets.
Inspired by the renowned Sheldon Kennedy Advocacy Centre, this pet-focused facility is located at 6120 1A Street SW and is set to revolutionize the support provided to Calgary’s vulnerable populations, including seniors, veterans, children in foster care, the homeless, and their cherished pets.
This center significantly enhances our capacity to provide essential services to those in need. Building upon the success of its existing programs, this center will serve as a comprehensive hub for pet food distribution, basic pet care services, and public education initiatives.

Through strategic collaborations with community partners, we aim to establish the Pet Advocacy Centre as a one-stop destination for our clients and their pets. Not only though these partnerships but with a specialized volunteer base, we will achieve support level we would like to offer to the individuals that use our services.
We are committed to serving Calgary’s most vulnerable populations, ensuring that the bond between individuals and their pets remains unbroken even during times of hardship.

Pet Food Bank
This is the first Parachutes For Pets program and the demand for pet food only continues to grow by the day. The Pet Advocacy Centre expands the capacity for this program.

A theatre space to host workshops, seminars, and educational programs on responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and the human-animal bond.​
Pet Thrift Store
You Thrifty Animal is a one-of-a-kind pet thrift store, offering a wide selection of new and gently used pet items at thrifty prices. From name brand gear to everyday essentials, every purchase supports the programs at Parachutes for Pets - so you can shop with purpose while spoiling your pet!

Lily & Dexter's Legacy Clubhouse
A dedicated fun space where Lily's Legacy children can visit and seek services like counselling with their pet.

Charlie's Closet
Our free pet supply thrift store for clients and families in crisis. Whether facing financial hardship, emergency situations, or other challenges, pet owners can visit and pick out the essentials they need - from treats and leashes to toys and bedding at absolutely no cost.​​
Pet Warming & Cooling Area
Dedicated areas within the center that will ensure pets have a safe and comfortable environment in extreme weather conditions.​​
Tito's Treasures
Supported by our incredible ambassador Devin Cooley, this is a free pet supply resource dedicated to small animals like rabbits, guniea pigs, reptiles, and more. Families in crisis can access the supplies they need to keep their small pets happy, healthy, and at home - all at no cost.​​
Grooming Room
Our grooming room is run by a professional groomer with over 10 years of experience offering full grooming services - including baths, haircuts, nail trims, and more. Client pets receive grooming at a discounted rate while the public is welcome to book appointments at regular rates. Every paid groom helps fund services for pets in need.
